About Sensei Walker

Sensei Walker with Nigiri Game (Okinawan Gripping Jars)

In 1985, Sensei Walker began his martial arts journey by joining Shobukan, where he trained under the expert guidance of Soke Anthony C. Marquez. Through years of dedicated study, he built a strong foundation in the art. In 1992, when Soke Marquez branched off to form Tanzenbukan Goju-Ryu and Kokusai Ryukyu Kobujutsu Kenkusai, Sensei Walker chose to continue his training under the direction of his instructor, remaining steadfast in his commitment to learning. This allowed him to deepen his knowledge, refine his techniques, and further immerse himself in the teachings and traditions of these arts.

Throughout his decades of practice, Sensei Walker has continuously honed his skills, expanding his understanding and fostering a unique ability to guide and nurture his students. Under his expert instruction, students not only become proficient martial artists but also develop a profound appreciation for the rich history and cultural significance embedded in Traditional Okinawan Martial Arts. Sensei Walker’s approach places a strong emphasis on cultivating discipline, respect, and a deep connection to the art itself, ensuring that each student grows into a well-rounded practitioner, not only in technique but in spirit, character, and personal growth.
